How do we assess Quality of Working Life?
A quick look at our case studies demonstrates that every client has different requirements and needs. The first stage in any assessment is to discuss what we can do and help you decide what we can help you with.

If you want us to manage the whole process, we will need details of how to contact your staff (normally their web or postal address at work). Any further details you can offer such as their work area or job category will be of help in deciding to what extent the sample response that is returned is valid.

We then will inform your employees that the survey is about to happen, and then approximately a week later send out the questionnaire in the appropriate format.

We then collect the responses to the survey and keep you updated on how well it is going. The length of time it takes to collect the responses depends on the response rate you require, which in turn depends on the quality of the information we have to chase up late respondents.

We then process the information collected and analyse it. Once the results of the analysis are in we will then produce appropriate reports.

The full report includes:

  • Executive summary,
  • Full question by question description and analysis
  • benchmarking statements comparing your organisation's QoWL
  • Description of the reliability of the data based on the sample
  • Advanced statistical analyses showing predictors of absenteeism, etc.
  • Evidence based advice on how to adopt best practice identified

We can produce brief or full summaries for employees (e.g. to feature within a newsletter or be contained on a web page).

Finally we would normally discuss the results with the human resources department and perhaps the management and unions, and help them to generate any plans they feel necessary to tackle any outstanding issues.

We would normally then contribute to a presentation or presentations to Directors, Governors, heads of department or staff on the outcomes and actions planned.

This is just one possible form of the services we offer, contact us to find out more or discuss how it might work for your organisation.
